BIOGRAPHY OF THE GREAT WHITE SHARK

Anthony Uwaifo Ogbomo affectionately known as “The Great White Shark” was born in Benin city on the 7th of March 1972; the third child of Dcn. Bayo Richard Ogbomo and Mrs. Bawo Juliet Ogbomo.

Like most of his siblings, he attended the Emotan nursery school on Airport road (now known as Our Lady of Apostles nursery) and then to what was then termed “Emotansenior” which was the primary school on Dawson road. From where he went on to attend the Immaculate Conception College (also known as Bishop Kelly College) also located in Benin city and finished in 1990.

Like every youngster at the time he aspired to higher education as so he gained admission to The Polytechnic Auchi at Auchi, Edo state where he spent his National Diploma days before proceeding to The Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma to study Geography and Regional Planning where he graduated in 1998. He then proceeded for his National Youth Service in Benue state in 1999.

A veritable business minded man and entrepreneur, he has over the years been involved in haulage, farming and real estate. A truly fearless leader in his own right. He will engage you on any topic and stick with his opinions until he gets a superior one and will always graciously defer to his elders.

We remember Tony with his strong, charming, engaging and witty personality. He was a reliable brother and friend. One who championed your cause first before asking questions later. A loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, in-law and friend.

His hearty laugh and generous spirit extended beyond his family and friends. Tony was well known in every community he came in contact with. Exemplified by his work with the Emotan Primary School Old Students Association EPSOSA (which he helped to found), his selfless volunteering with the This Present House Ministries where he was actively involved with the God Bless Nigeria Project, the Abraham Adesanya Estate Residents Association to mention a few.

We remember one of his favourite mantras…. “Break Free”…… So family and friends alike, join us as we break free of our sorrows and cling to memory of his profound presence which will be sorely missed. Let those memories continue to be a beacon of warmth and joy and comfort for all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Please join us as we celebrate his short but beautiful life here on earth till we all meet to part

No more.

The Great White Shark with the red unblinking eyes!!! Keep smiling brother. We know you didn’t blink! Rest in peace beloved brother. We love you but Christ loves you more
